Removed Audios (#2)

Posted by JLCMusic - July 7th, 2024

I checked Newgrounds today, after I had removed 2 of my songs from Newgrounds, and the first thing I notice is "Wow, I remember having 12 songs after deleting my newest ones." And that's the thing, I did have 12 songs on Newgrounds. I scrolled down the song lust, and my first 2 songs Aurora and Thunderstorm, were gone. Just like that. I checked my projects to hopefully republish them, but apparently a NG Mod or Admin removed them AND unscouted me from the audio portal. So this is likely my goodbye to Newgrounds as it would be more practical to just post my music on YouTube or SoundCloud. This means that my songs will not be available in Geometry Dash or other third-party API partnered with Newgrounds.

@BluMarioMusic ask a music mod

I saw that TomFulp removed your scouted status and likely is the person who removed your audio. You might ask him what it is that you did wrong.

Just in case, also check here and make sure you didn't violate any sampling rules or something obscure
https://www.newgrounds.com/wiki/help-information/terms-of-use/audio-guidelines

My guess is that my audio got removed because I made them in BandLab, though the audio guidelines specifically state the BandLab mobile app, when I used the desktop site. I'll try and ask him soon.

@BluMarioMusic Did you check the BandLab licensing to make sure that you can actually monetize the creations you make with it, whether you own them or not? That's the issue with a lot of mobile apps. Secondarily, there's also that NG forbids making your music primarily out of loops, or any app that is solely loop based, because you can't really make anything original that way (plus they get caught in the copyright detection system often)

@Yendor @JLCMusic The exact same thing happened to me with no apparent reason...
